Community Involvement:
OFCU is proud of its community involvement. We strive to always be a good neighbor and help out whenever possible. Below are some of the community events we have sponsored and/or participated in. For donation requests please download and fill-out our Donation Request Form.
2023 Big Give
The OFCU donated to the 6 ATKS Booster Club for the 2023 Big Give renovating the Alamogordo High School Soccer Complex.
OFCU's Sizzlin' Summer Sale 2023
The OFCU put on a parking lot sale on all of its repossessed vehicles with Sal Limon Y Chile, Sweets N Treats, Lemon Shake Ups and Dahlia's Hawaiian Shaved Ice on site.
OFCU's Annual Memorial Day Madness Scholarship Golf Tournament 2023
OFCU collected whole and half hole sponsorships for the annual Memorial Day Golf Tournament at Desert Lakes Golf Course. OFCU in return was able to award 24 senior students with a $500 scholarship at 11 different local area high schools. OFCU had 10 volunteers help during this event.
2023 Sounds of Freedom
OFCU sponsored the Sounds of Freedom Community event and had 25 volunteers throughout this 2 day event.
2023 OFCU Scholarships
OFCU awarded scholarships to 24 students from 11 different area high schools totaling $12,000.
Financial Literacy Presentations
OFCU presented credit and mortgage classes to adults at the Inn of the Mountain Gods, the Travel Center and Holloman AFB. These were great opportunities to teach others about finances, credit and the mortgage process in the real world as well as to interact with future members.
2023 April Youth Month
April was Youth Month at OFCU. Getting kids excited about their financial future! We encouraged youth to open their own savings account (with a parent or guardian's help). Begin a habit of putting money into that account regularly and learn how compound interest helps their account to grow.
Remember, it's never too early to start saving!
2023 Budgeting Presentations
OFCU hosted interactive budget presentations to several High School students. Teaching the students the importance of budgeting when they are out in the real world!
2023 Run for the Mountain 5K
The Ruidoso staff participated in the Run for the Mountain 5K this past weekend.
The Alamogordo Community CleanUp 2023
The Alamogordo Community CleanUp is a great way to keep Alamogordo beautiful and help our community. OFCU helped clean up the trash along the bypass in Alamogordo. OFCU had 16 staff and family members volunteer their time during this event.
Purple Up! for Military Kids 2023
“Purple Up! For Military Kids” is a day for Department of Defense Education Activity communities to wear purple to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices. OFCU participated in Purple Up! and showed our support for all of the military kids.
